Experience that matters

Built by veterans of the original Informatica Cloud team.

Supaflow was founded by Informatica veterans who were part of the original team that built Informatica Cloud. We bring firsthand integration experience and strong relationships with systems integrator partners to the migration.

Our experience comes from building enterprise integration systems from the inside. We bring that understanding to complex mappings, custom code, and tightly coupled workflows, working alongside your technical owners and SI partners from architecture through handover.

Your migration assessment

A concrete plan for the move.

We review your estate with the people who know it: technical owners, business stakeholders, and your SI partner. The assessment turns workload definitions, operating requirements, and contract dates into four practical outputs.

01

An estate you can act on

A workload inventory classified by complexity, with shared logic, custom functions, data sources and targets, execution dependencies, and downstream consumers. Identify unused assets and the workloads that need individual engineering.

02

A replacement blueprint

A design for Supaflow pipelines and suitable dbt models, including incremental processing, shared transformations, schedules, and retained systems. Migration waves account for dependencies, business priority, and validation readiness.

03

A defined delivery commitment

A fixed-price proposal with milestones, a representative first wave, acceptance checks and tolerances, customer responsibilities, and post-cutover support. Custom-code decisions and exclusions are recorded before delivery begins.

04

A subscription payback estimate

A business case connecting renewal and retirement dates to charges you can eliminate. Replacement subscriptions, parallel operation, ongoing expenses, and the full transition investment stay in the calculation.

The details we take care of

Preserve the behavior behind your Talend workloads.

01

Custom Java behind visual jobs

A diagram can hide routines, custom components, and row-level Java logic. We review the code behind the job and determine what becomes a Supaflow pipeline, a dbt model, or a separately implemented component.

02

Shared contexts and nested jobs

Environment variables, shared metadata, and parent-child job calls affect execution. We map the dependencies and agree how configuration and execution order will work in the replacement.

03

Reject flows and recovery behavior

Rejected records, partial failures, reruns, and incremental checkpoints are part of the job contract. Migration acceptance includes the operational behavior that matters to your business, alongside the output data.

04

Different reasons to leave Talend

Commercial users may want to retire subscription charges. Open Studio users may need a maintainable replacement for an unsupported tool. We build the financial case around your actual starting point.

Outcome-based delivery

A fixed price.
Deliverables at every milestone.

Your migration progresses through visible delivery milestones. You receive the architecture, implementation, validation evidence, and operating documentation needed to review each wave. The statement of work sets the fixed price, timeline, and acceptance criteria; scope changes are agreed separately.

    • Cutover, rollback, and recovery runbook
    • Operating documentation and training
    • Retirement checklist and support plan

Engineering and AI assistance

From exported logic to maintainable models.

We review job exports, shared contexts, routines, and execution dependencies together. Semi-automated conversion and AI assistance support the work where appropriate; engineers resolve custom Java and component behavior. A representative first delivery wave establishes the design and validation approach before we expand across the estate.

Supaflow pipelines handle supported data movement. dbt Core models implement suitable transformation logic. We define execution dependencies and any retained systems in the target design.

Give every component a target implementation

Review tMap joins, lookups, filters, and expressions for suitable dbt models. Custom routines, specialized components, and procedural behavior get an engineering decision, with rejects, checkpoints, and nested-job execution included in the design.

Separate shared logic from environment settings

Refactor repeated transformations into reusable models and document shared contexts, configuration, and execution order. Trace the original jobs and routines to the delivered pipelines, models, and any retained components.

Validate data and operational behavior together

Compare agreed row and column values, aggregates, and critical business metrics. Test incremental loads, rejected records, partial failures, and reruns so acceptance covers how the jobs recover as well as what they produce.

Our team owns delivery from source logic to accepted workloads. You receive implementation batches, mapping documentation, and validation evidence throughout the project.

Make the replacement worth operating.

Measure the subscriptions you can retire

For commercial Talend estates, compare removable subscription and support charges with the complete replacement cost. Retained licenses and new operating expenses stay in the calculation.

Make custom logic maintainable

Document required transformations and move suitable SQL logic into reviewed dbt Core models. Specialized Java behavior gets an explicit implementation decision rather than an assumed automatic translation.

Give operations a documented handover

Deliver the agreed pipelines with dependency documentation, recovery procedures, and ownership assignments. Plan training and post-cutover support so the replacement can be maintained by your team.

Qlik retired Talend Open Studio on January 31, 2024. Commercial Talend products are separate. Read Qlik’s Open Studio statement.

Migration payback calculator

Size your migration. See the path to payback.

Estimate delivery, investment, and subscription savings from your workload. USD · planning estimates.

1. Count your mappings

Group active workloads by complexity. For Talend, count jobs.

2. Compare subscriptions

Include legacy charges you can cancel and the full replacement subscription cost.

Add a proposal or other costs

A fixed-price proposal replaces the estimated migration budget. Include new infrastructure, hires, contractors, and retained tools in additional operating expenses. Other transition costs cover expenses outside the migration proposal, such as external tool fees and exit charges.

How the estimate works

Simple mappings: Pass-throughs, filters, basic lookups. Medium mappings: Aggregators, joiners, routers, basic SCDs. Complex mappings: Nested maplets, custom logic, procedural overrides.

Mapping counts and complexity determine the delivery and budget range. The planning model assumes semi-automated conversion for eligible simple and medium workloads, engineering of complex workloads, refactoring and redesign, testing, validation, and cutover preparation. Actual scope, dependencies, replacement subscription pricing, and contractual retirement dates are confirmed during assessment. The estimate is not a binding quote or a guaranteed delivery date; the service is sold at a fixed project price.

Investment = migration budget + other transition costs + replacement costs before retirement. We assume full replacement operating costs from kickoff through retirement; legacy subscriptions remain the baseline and are not added again. Net monthly savings = retired subscriptions − replacement subscriptions − additional operating expenses. Payback after retirement = investment ÷ net savings. Kickoff payback adds time to retirement. Three-year ROI = (36 months of net savings − investment) ÷ investment. Costs remain constant; discounting and taxes are excluded.

Migration questions

Talend migration FAQ

What does a Talend migration service include?

We agree on job assessment, target design, rebuilding, validation, cutover, documentation, and handover in a statement of work. It defines the included jobs, custom-code responsibilities, acceptance criteria, and post-cutover support. Delivery is priced for that scope rather than by consulting hours.

Can you help replace Talend Open Studio?

Yes, we assess Open Studio data integration jobs and their dependencies for a move to Supaflow. Qlik retired Talend Open Studio on January 31, 2024; commercial Talend products are separate. If your current subscription is free, there is no license saving to claim: the decision must account for replacement costs and your actual operating requirements.

Is this a migration to Qlik Talend Cloud?

No. This service helps move agreed data integration workloads from Talend to Supaflow. It is separate from upgrading Talend or moving an existing Talend installation to Qlik Talend Cloud.

How do you convert Talend jobs and custom Java?

Our team analyzes job exports, custom routines, and component behavior, then engineers the replacement in Supaflow, suitable dbt models, or a dedicated implementation. AI assistance supports the work where appropriate. Engineers review custom Java and validate the resulting behavior. This is a managed migration service rather than a self-service job importer.

What happens to tMap logic and shared contexts?

We review transformation expressions, lookups, joins, and environment-specific contexts during assessment. Suitable SQL transformations may become dbt Core models; other behavior is rebuilt or assigned a separate target implementation. Configuration and execution dependencies are documented before acceptance.

How is Talend migration pricing agreed?

We quote a fixed project price after assessing the jobs, custom code, dependencies, and validation requirements. The statement of work defines the outcome and scope. Additional requirements are agreed and priced separately, so the fixed-price commitment remains tied to a clear deliverable.

How do you calculate Talend migration ROI?

Start with subscription charges you can actually eliminate, then subtract Supaflow and other replacement subscriptions plus new ongoing expenses. Compare those net savings with the full migration investment. We do not count redeployed employees as cash savings, and Open Studio users should not assume a subscription-led payback case.

Can Supaflow replace Talend ESB, MDM, or every data quality feature?

The service covers the data integration jobs agreed during assessment. ESB routes, MDM, specialized data quality, streaming requirements, and application integration must be evaluated separately. We identify retained systems and additional solutions before committing to the migration scope.
